What is the problem we are solving?

In recent days the job market has become more competitive. Currently, when a company interviews candidates, they not only check if the candidate is competent in the subject but also if the candidate is a culture fit and team fit. The company also provides equal opportunity to the candidate to assess the company if it is a fit for him/her as well.

In this competitive environment, there are platforms available to prepare candidates for interviews. However, those platforms are video-based and a lot of time scripted. Also, the answers are formulated to follow a structure. These platforms make the candidates biassed to follow a structure and decrease the candidate’s creativity to answer the question in the real interview environment.

Mock interviews are being practised a lot these days. This ability helps candidates to exchange feedback also able to simulate the interview environment. However, currently, these mocks could be more structured. The quality of these mocks are not guaranteed. Also, there is no assurance that both parties will be arriving for the discussion. The feedback exchanged may be a biassed view of one individual. Especially in this feedback, a organic view is missing. Lastly, the mocks which candidates are practising are primarily restricted to themselves. The larger audience can not use it.

So in summary, we want to solve the problem of the non-availability of a structured mock interview platform for software engineers where the feedback is verified and it is available for a larger audience for reference.

What is the context of myMock?

Mock interviews are very common this days. When we spoke to 500+ software engineers or product managers we understand that every one does mock interview or wanted to do mock interviews. And think that mock interviews are the best way to practice interviews. It provide them the real world situation, the feedback are non biased and organic. And importantly the question are out of box. But every one mentioned during the research that there is no dedicated platform which is available focused only on mock interviews. So myMock is solving the problem of focusing only on mock interviews and bringing needy people togather.

When some one is interested look participants in the database and send request and upon agreement they mock each other.
